Looking back, I often joke that my childhood felt like a well-rehearsed performance—my mom as the choreographer and me the lead dancer. But that discipline instilled a sense of grace and resilience that still guides me today.

Although my heart leaned toward fashion—often designing and stitching clothes just for fun—my family steered me toward engineering. I enrolled at Delhi College of Technology & Management in Palwal, Haryana. My initial reaction? I hated it. But adversity has a strange way of building strength. Despite having to drop out in my third year due to unforeseen challenges, I remained determined and ultimately completed my graduation in 2023.

How did you get your first break in the field?

Honestly, my journey didn’t begin in a glamorous way—it emerged from one of the darkest chapters of my life. In 2015, I made some unfortunate decisions and placed my trust in the wrong people—friends who ultimately took advantage of me during my most vulnerable time. That year, I dropped out of college, left home, and found myself completely alone, with barely enough money to survive.

What were the biggest challenges you faced when starting out?

The most harrowing battle of my life was escaping the world of prostitution—a dark reality I was dragged into, and one I will always deeply regret. It was nothing short of hell on earth. I was young, naive, and desperately vulnerable. Every step forward from that place felt like crawling through quicksand—slow, painful, but absolutely necessary.

Even after I broke free, the shadows of my past continued to follow me. Wherever I went—whether applying for jobs, seeking a place to live, or trying to build new collaborations—people seemed to already know my story. It felt as though the world had passed judgment before even meeting me. It was suffocating.

Was there a moment you felt, “I’ve made it”?

To be honest, I never had a fairytale moment. Becoming a model was never part of the plan. After everything I had been through, my only goal was to survive. A few contacts helped me land small photoshoots—just enough to make it through each week. Eventually, I moved to Mumbai with a friend to start over—a new city, new faces, and a chance to leave my past behind and build something new.

Life became a blur: photoshoots during the day, household chores in between, budgeting every last rupee, and quiet nights on the balcony, replaying the past and wondering how things could have turned out differently.

I slowly restarted my Instagram, posting casually—using it as a space for therapy and self-expression. Over time, brands began to notice, and a few small gigs trickled in. But everything changed in 2019, when I made a post opening up about my past. It was raw, honest, and terrifying.

Months later, I received a message from De Wallen in Amsterdam. They asked if I’d be willing to share my story, review the Red Light District, and speak with the women working there. At first, I thought it was a scam—who wouldn’t? But I was desperate, and more than anything, curious. A few days later, we scheduled a Skype interview. “What do I have to lose?” I thought.

A few months later, I was in Amsterdam—speaking, listening, and healing. Was it a dream? For me, absolutely.

How do you come up with ideas for your content?

I wouldn’t exactly call them “ideas” in the traditional sense. Most of the time, it’s about reimagining what already exists online—but through my own lens, infused with personal storytelling, mood, and a bit of creative flair. Of course, I do come up with original concepts too, but they usually arise from random thoughts, spontaneous emotions, or sudden bursts of inspiration in the most unexpected moments. I truly believe creativity is everywhere—it just takes the right perspective to see it.

Can you walk us through a day in your life as a content creator (when you’re in India)?

Sure! For me, life is a balance between discipline and creativity.

• I usually start my day early with a cup of my special tea—yes, it’s magical (and no, I’m not sharing the recipe!).
• I hit the gym between 6–7 AM, followed by a refreshing shower and breakfast around 9.
• Then it’s time for household chores (because balance is key, right?) and checking in on all my social media accounts—DMs, comments, reel performance, and more.
• Late mornings are spent planning upcoming posts, reviewing concepts, or brainstorming content ideas with my team, followed by lunch between 12–1 PM.
• A short nap between 2–3 PM is a must for me—absolutely non-negotiable!
• Afternoons and evenings tend to be busier with content edits, calls, emails, and engaging with my online community.
• Dinner is usually around 7–8 PM—unless I’m out clubbing or catching up with friends. In that case, anything goes!

What has been your most successful post or campaign so far—and why?

It’s hard to pick one because I feel every post that helps me connect deeply with my audience is a success in itself. Lately, though, my posts have been performing really well—they’ve been helping me build genuine bonds with my fans and reach new ones too. So it’s always a win-win.

But if I had to name one standout moment, it would be my Playboy Lingerie Model Campaign in 2023. I was the only Indian selected and placed in the Top 5, competing with stunning talents from the US, Europe, and Brazil. That wasn’t just a win for me—it was a moment of representation, resilience, and breaking stereotypes. A moment that reminded me how far I’ve come.

 

 

What role has social media played in your career growth?

A massive one. Honestly, social media has completely transformed my life.

There was a time when I couldn’t even imagine stepping outside of India, let alone working on international projects. But here I am—traveling the world, collaborating with global brands, and evolving every single day. None of this happened overnight. It took consistent hard work, unwavering self-belief, and the power of digital storytelling.

Social media became the bridge between who I was and who I had the potential to become.

How do you handle negative comments or online criticism?

I’ve been through things most people couldn’t even begin to imagine. I know where I’ve been, and I’m proud of who I am today.

So when people throw hate or pass judgment online—it doesn’t shake me. It’s easy to hide behind a screen and type cruel comments, but it takes real strength to face your past and rise above it. And I’ve done exactly that.

As I often say: You can keep slapping my back—it’s already numb from everything I’ve endured.

I choose peace over pettiness, always.

How do you stay creative and avoid burnout?

Archita Phukan: You can’t always avoid it. It’s real, it’s painful, and it often creeps in—even when you genuinely love what you do. Social media can be relentless—the pressure, the algorithms, the constant comparisons… it wears you down. One day you’re trending; the next, you’re invisible. That’s the nature of the game.

So, I don’t pretend to be immune. When burnout hits, I allow myself to feel it. I take a step back, breathe, and reconnect with my “why.” Then, I rise—stronger, wiser, and more unapologetic than before.

What advice would I give to someone starting out in blogging, influencing, or acting?
Be consistent. That’s the key.

You don’t want to look back five years from now and say, “Damn… if only I had stayed consistent, I’d be a millionaire by now.”
Ideas will come and go. Motivation fades. But discipline and consistency? That’s what turns dreams into reality.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Well… hopefully married within the next 3! 
Yeah, I think it’s high time to settle down—build something more personal, more grounded, alongside everything else I’ve been creating. Career is important, but so is love, peace, and a home that feels like one. That being said, I’ll still be out here—building, creating, storytelling, and pushing boundaries in every space I step into.

Any upcoming projects or collaborations you’re excited about?

Archita Phukan: Absolutely! Right now, I’m deeply involved in film production—something that’s incredibly close to my heart. It’s a big shift from modeling and influencing, but visual storytelling has always been a passion of mine.

A few months ago, I had the privilege of sharing an unforgettable dinner with the iconic Kendra Lust. We dove into some bold and thought-provoking conversations—especially around the perception of the adult industry in India, the cultural taboos, and the potential for future collaborations that are both empowering and impactful.

There’s a lot in the works—and believe me, it’s going to challenge the norms in the best possible way.

What’s something about you that most people don’t know?

Archita Phukan: Most people see the bold, fierce version of me online—but what many don’t realize is that I’m incredibly soft-hearted.

I truly love helping others in any way I can—whether it’s offering emotional support, sharing my story to inspire, or giving back to those in need. I also have a deep affection for animals. In fact, around 20–30% of my monthly income from exclusive content goes directly toward causes that support both human and animal welfare.

Kindness is my quiet superpower. I may not always post about it, but it’s a fundamental part of who I am.
